Sister Sai’s most recent project, Extempore, is a collection of improvisational tunes recorded during practice sessions. The impromptu style reflects Sister Sai’s typical solo live set – layers of loops of cello that has been run through a variety of effects pedals accompanied by sparse samples. Saira manipulates the sound of the cello to the extreme, making it almost unrecognizable at times.
